Le Ronceret is a Premier Cru climat of the Volnay appellation in the Cote de Beaune. Located just a short distance to the east of Volnay village, it sits right on the eastern fringes of the appellation's Premier Cru sites, on the lower slopes of the Cote d'Or escarpment.

Volnay's finest vineyards are located in a tight band of high-quality terroir, stretching right across the village between its commune boundaries with Pommard in the north and Meursault in the south. They benefit from well-drained, limestone-rich soils and a south-east-facing aspect – helping the vines to capitalize on the morning and early afternoon sunlight.

Wines covered by the Volnay Premier Cru title are made under the strictest production conditions of the Volnay communal appellation, exclusively from grapes grown in vineyards officially recognized as Premier Cru by the INAO – the French government organization in charge of the country's appellation system.
